Sheriff's Detectives Arrest Six Santa Maria Gang Members / Associates for Warrants and Narcotic Related Violations

During the investigation into the whereabouts of Rudy Ramos, detectives from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Bureau and Compliance Response Team discovered Ramos was associating himself with several people who had warrants issued for their arrest.
With the assistance of the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Parole, six suspects were arrested for various charges, including narcotic related violations.
On May 11th, 2016, at approximately 1100 AM, detectives located 29-year old Lawrence Ramos from Santa Maria in the 900-block of West Cox Lane in the city of Santa Maria, driving a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been reported stolen just a couple hours before to the Santa Maria Police Department. Detectives knew Ramos had three warrants issued for his arrest. An officer from the Community Response Team pulled Ramos over and took him into custody without incident. Ramos was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. Officers from the Santa Maria Police Department responded to take possession and recovery of the stolen vehicle. Ramos was transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail where he was booked for his warrants, which included one with a $150,000.00 bail. The District Attorney’s Office will review the possession of brass knuckles and determine whether or not they will file additional charges on Ramos.
At approximately 2:00 PM, detectives and CDCR Parole Agents located a wanted parolee, 28-year old David Tinoco in the 800-block of Price Street in the city of Pismo Beach. Tinoco was wanted for a parole violation.
With the assistance of the Pismo Beach Police Department, Tinoco and four others were taken into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, detectives contacted 24-year old Andres Navarro, 21-year old Gloria Lawag, 36-year old Alana Austria, and 36-year old Gabriel Fuentes all from Santa Maria.
Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Andres Navarro for a parole violation and he was transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail with Tinoco. Gabriel Fuentes was arrested for a violation of his San Luis Obispo County Probation and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. Fuentes was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail the night prior by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office for sales of narcotics.
Alana Austria and Gloria Lawag were cited by sheriff’s detectives for being in possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
