Search Warrant Yields Illegal Shotgun and Heroin For Sales
Santa Maria - August 22nd, 2016
On Monday, August 22, 2016 at about 0630 hours, detectives from the Santa
Barbara Sheriff Special Investigation Bureau and Compliance Response Team served a
search warrant in the 1300 block of Ruby Court, in the City of Santa Maria. The suspect,
Nicholas Conn (33 years) was detained. The house was also occupied by 3 other adults and
During the search, Conn was found to be in possession of about 6 grams of black tar heroin,
psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms), a loaded illegally modified semi-automatic
shotgun found unsecured next to his bed, two additional firearms and paraphernalia.
Evidence was also obtained that led detectives to believe Conn was selling the controlled
substances from the residence and possessed the firearms for protection while engaged in
the sales of narcotics.
Child Welfare Services was notified of the incident.
Conn was arrested and booked into custody with the following charges:
11370.1 PC - Possess firearm while selling narcotics
26500 PC - Possess “sawed off” shotgun”
11378 PC - Possession for sales of controlled substance.
11351 PC - Possession for sale of heroin
