Missing Person - Marilyn Morgan, 83
Public Assistance Requested to Help Locate Missing At-Risk Solvang Senior
The Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office has positively identified the woman who was found deceased in her vehicle on November 9, 2016 in Los Olivos as being 83-year-old Marilyn Morgan of Solvang. Next of kin has been notified. Marilyn Morgan was reported missing on October 19, 2016. A preliminary investigation reveals her death is an apparent suicide. An official cause and manner of death is pending toxicology and lab results.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. last night, November 9, 2016, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in a residential neighborhood in Los Olivos for an extended period of time. Sheriff’s deputies located the vehicle and determined it belonged to 83-year-old Marilyn Morgan of Solvang who was reported missing on October 19, 2016.
Sheriff’s deputies located a deceased female inside the vehicle. The Coroner’s Office is in the process of making a positive identification. No foul play is suspected. The death is under investigation.
Solvang - October 31st, 2016
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance to help locate an elderly woman who is considered at-risk and has been missing for twelve days. 83-year-old Marilyn Morgan was last seen on October 19, 2016 at approximately 11:00 a.m. at Atterdag Village of Solvang in the 600 block of Atterdag Road where she is a resident. An associate of the retirement community contacted the Sheriff’s Office when Morgan did not show up for lunch which was highly uncharacteristic of her. When she did not show up for dinner either, staff became very concerned for her safety and well-being and reported her missing. Morgan is believed to be suicidal based on past behavior and a statement she made to a friend prior to leaving.
Morgan left Atterdag Village in her white, four door hatchback 2004 Saturn Vue, California license plate 5ESJ690. She is approximately 5’5” tall, 200 pounds with short white hair. (Morgan is not wearing her wig as depicted in attached photo.) Morgan left without her cell phone and her purse.
Shortly after Morgan was reported missing, the Sheriff’s Office issued a “be on the lookout” for Morgan and her vehicle. Morgan and her and vehicle where entered into the Missing Persons data base. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff/Fire Air Support Unit has conducted aerial searches but Morgan and her vehicle have not been located.
