Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Residential Burglary Suspects from Vetura Shortly After Crime Committed in Carpinteria

Carpinteria - November 10th, 2016

At approximately 1:27 p.m. yesterday, November 9, 2016, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Linhere Street in Carpinteria.  The suspects were seen fleeing the area in a red Ford Fiesta.  The Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center put out a “be on the lookout” for the vehicle and just one minute later, Sheriff’s deputies located the car driving southbound on Carpinteria Avenue between Cactus Lane and Maple Avenue.

Sheriff’s deputies conducted a high risk felony stop at the 76 gas station on Carpinteria Avenue.  Sheriff’s deputies located 27-year-old Sarah Ringler, 43-year-old Shannon Salas and 37-year-old Joseph Grizzaffi, all from Ventura, inside the vehicle.  Sheriff’s deputies searched the vehicle and located stolen property from the residential burglary, burglary tools, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects were arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Rangler is being held on $50,000 bail and Grizzaffi is being held without bail due to an outstanding warrant.  Salas posted $50,000 bail this morning and was released from custody.
