Sheriff Brown Promotes 2 to Lieutenant
Santa Barbara - April 3rd, 2009
Sheriff Bill Brown promoted two long-time Department veterans to Lieutenant during a ceremony on Friday, April 3, 2009. Family, friends and colleagues of Lieutenant Kelly Moore and Custody Lieutenant Lisa Bondietti witnessed the ceremony at the Department’s Headquarters in Goleta.
Lt. Moore began his career with the Carpinteria Police Department in 1986 and became a member of the SBSO when the City of Carpinteria consolidated and began contracting law enforcement operations with the Sheriff’s Department. Lt. Moore was promoted to Sergeant in 2002 following several assignments with Narcotics, Dive Team, Training Bureau and Human Resources.
Lt. Bondietti was hired to work in the Main Jail in 1991. After working in various assignments including Intake/Release, Dispatch and Classification she was promoted to Custody Sergeant in 2003. Lt. Bondietti has served on the Department’s Administrative Investigative Team beginning in 2004 and has worked in Alternative Sentencing since 2005.
The promotions follow a rigorous process involving testing, interviews and peer reviews all done in competition with equally qualified colleagues in the Department. “Those who have emerged successfully from this process are to be congratulated,” said Sheriff Brown during the ceremony, “I have great confidence in your abilities, and in your potential. You are assuming important positions of great responsibility and much will be expected of you.”
Lt. Moore will oversee the Investigative Support Branch of the Criminal Investigations Division-Coroner’s Bureau. Custody Lt. Bondietti will be assigned to the Jail Operations Division in the Main Jail.
